Impact garage doors, rated for where you live
The garage door is usually the largest opening in a home. We replace it with a door approved for Broward County's wind zone, and repair the ones that just need work.

What we do
A garage door has to be rated for the wind loads where the home is, and in Broward that means the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. We size and rate the door for the opening, install it to its approval documents, and keep everyday repairs simple.
- Impact and wind-rated garage door replacement, approved for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone.
- A range of styles, windows and finishes, chosen from approved configurations.
- Repairs: springs, cables, rollers, tracks and damaged panels.
- Garage door opener repair and replacement.
- Reinforcement and bracing where the approval calls for it.
- Permit application, inspection and permit close-out for replacements.
Why the rating and approval matter
A replacement garage door in Broward County has to be an approved product for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, rated for the design wind pressure of the opening, and anchored exactly as its approval documents specify.
Replacing a garage door generally needs a permit from your city's building department. Repairs to springs, cables and openers usually do not.
Impact Garage Doors work is done under Broward County Certificate of Competency 20-WD-21968-X (windows, doors, shutters & garage doors).

Garage door questions, answered
- Does a new garage door need a permit?
- Typically, yes. A replacement door is an approved product that must meet the wind-load rating for the opening, and the installation is inspected. We pull the permit and close it out.
- What makes a garage door impact-rated?
- It has been tested to resist the wind pressure and debris impact the code requires and has the approval paperwork to show it. In Broward, that approval has to cover the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone.
- Can you repair my door instead of replacing it?
- Often. Springs, cables, rollers, tracks and openers can usually be repaired. If the door is not wind-rated or is near the end of its life, we will tell you so you can decide.
- Can I keep my opener with a new door?
- Sometimes. It depends on the opener's age and whether it suits the new door's weight. We check it when we measure.
