Hurricane shutters that suit the way you live
Accordion, roll-down and storm-panel systems for Broward County homes, each an approved product, installed to its approval with the permit handled.

What we do
Shutters protect an opening when they are closed, so the right type depends on who will close them and how often. Accordion shutters stay beside the opening, roll-downs close from a switch or crank, and storm panels go up only when needed. We help you match the system to each opening.
- Accordion shutters for windows, sliding doors, entry doors and balconies.
- Roll-down shutters, manual or motorized, for patios, sliders and large openings.
- Removable aluminum or steel storm panels with permanently mounted tracks.
- Products approved for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, usually shown by a Miami-Dade NOA.
- Repairs to existing shutters: stuck blades, broken locks, bent tracks, missing hardware.
- Permit application, inspections and permit close-out.
Why the approval and the permit matter
For shutters to count as opening protection in Broward County, which is entirely in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, they need an approval for the HVHZ (usually a Miami-Dade NOA) and must be installed exactly as that approval specifies.
Many cities require a permit and an inspection for new shutters. A closed permit with approved products also matters for a wind-mitigation inspection.
Hurricane Shutters (accordion, roll-down, storm panels) work is done under Broward County Certificate of Competency 20-WD-21968-X (windows, doors, shutters & garage doors).

Hurricane shutter questions, answered
- Accordion, roll-down or storm panels: which should I choose?
- Accordions are the everyday choice for windows and sliders; roll-downs are easiest to close, especially on large or hard-to-reach openings; panels cost the least but need storage and time to put up. Many homes use a mix.
- Do hurricane shutters need a permit?
- In many Broward cities, yes. Shutters are an approved building product and the installation is inspected against the approval. We pull the permit.
- Can you fix my existing shutters?
- Often, yes. Stuck accordion blades, broken locks and damaged tracks can usually be repaired. If a system is past repair, we will tell you and quote a replacement.
- Can shutters help with my insurance?
- Approved protection on every opening can qualify for a wind-mitigation credit with many insurers. Ask your insurer how they apply it.
