What we do

A roof in Broward deals with strong sun, heavy summer rain and the wind loads the building code is written around. We find the actual source of a problem before quoting, and when a roof is replaced we build it to the code and product approvals that apply here.

  • Leak diagnosis and repair: flashing, roof-to-wall joints, penetrations, valleys and worn underlayment.
  • Full roof replacement in shingle, concrete or clay tile, metal and flat (low-slope) systems.
  • Roofing products approved for use in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, installed to their approval documents.
  • Damage repair after a storm, with photos and a written scope you can share with your insurer.
  • Flat-roof ponding and drainage problems on additions, porches and carports.
  • Permit pulled, inspections scheduled and passed, permit closed out at the end.

Roofing in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone

All of Broward County is in Florida's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), which has its own roofing provisions in the Florida Building Code: how underlayment is applied, how tile and shingles are fastened, and which products may be used. Roofing products used here need an approval for the HVHZ, commonly a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA).

Re-roofing generally needs a permit from your city's building department, with inspections during and after the work. An open roof permit can surface later at a sale or refinance, so we close ours out.

Roof Repair & Replacement work is done under Broward County Certificate of Competency 21-R-22240-X (roofing).

Roofing questions, answered

Should I repair my roof or replace it?
It depends on the roof's age, the material, and what the inspection finds. We look first and tell you plainly: if a repair will solve the problem, that is what we recommend.
Do you pull permits for roof work?
Yes. A re-roof and many repairs need a permit from your city's building department. We pull it, schedule the inspections and close it out when the work passes.
What does the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone change for my roof?
It sets stricter rules for underlayment, fastening and the products that may be used, and roofing products need an approval for use in the HVHZ. All of Broward County is in the zone, so these rules apply to every roof we work on.
What roof types do you work on?
Shingle, concrete and clay tile, metal, and flat or low-slope roofs: the systems found on most Broward homes.
