Impact windows, approved for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone
Always-on opening protection for Broward County homes: product selection, permit, installation and final inspection handled as one job.

What we do
Impact windows protect the opening without anyone having to put anything up, and they work as ordinary windows the rest of the year. What makes them count is the product approval behind them and an installation that matches it, which is the part we take care of.
- Impact window replacement for the whole home, or one elevation at a time.
- Single-hung, horizontal-roller, casement and fixed (picture) windows.
- Products approved for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, usually shown by a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA).
- Measured and ordered to each opening, installed and anchored to the approval documents.
- Stucco, trim and interior finish work around the new frames.
- Permit application, inspections and permit close-out.
Why the product approval matters here
Every part of Broward County is in Florida's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, which has the strictest wind-borne debris standards in the Florida Building Code. Windows installed here need an approval for the HVHZ, usually a Miami-Dade NOA, and must be installed and anchored exactly as that approval specifies, or they do not pass inspection.
Replacing windows generally needs a permit from your city's building department. A closed permit with approved products is also what a wind-mitigation inspector looks for.
Impact Windows work is done under Broward County Certificate of Competency 20-WD-21968-X (windows, doors, shutters & garage doors).

Impact window questions, answered
- What is a Miami-Dade NOA?
- A Notice of Acceptance is a product approval issued after a window or door passes the testing protocols written for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Broward County is in that zone, so we quote products with the approval it requires.
- Do impact windows need a permit?
- Typically, yes. Window replacement generally needs a building permit and inspections. We handle the permit and close it out after the final inspection.
- Impact windows or hurricane shutters?
- Impact windows protect the opening with no action needed; shutters usually cost less but have to be closed before a storm. We install both and will give you a straight comparison for your home.
- Can impact windows help with my insurance?
- Approved opening protection on every opening can qualify for a wind-mitigation credit with many insurers. Ask your insurer how they apply it; the inspection needs to see approved, permitted products.
